Columbus Science Pub Presents: Architecture Beyond Earth: Reimagining Human Habitation in Low Earth Orbit

February 5, 2026 07:30p.m.

$8.00

“The International Space Station, after more than 25 years in orbit, has proven humans can survive in space, but thriving remains elusive” says Marta Nowak, a registered architect, designer and educator.
Nowak, February’s speaker, is the Christos Yessios Digital Fabrication Assistant Professor at the Knowlton School and co-founder of AN-ONYMOUS, an award-winning design office that focuses on experimental approaches toward architecture and technology. Their works has been widely published and exhibited at international venues such as Hammer Museum, the A+D Museum, and MoMA PS1. Their firm has been a consultant to Google, Hyperloop Transportation Technology and NASA JPL.
Join Columbus Science Pub to hear all about the challenges and early research on long-term habitation in space. And who knows, maybe we’ll even discuss a challenge or two related to co-habitating on orbit.
Food and drink will be available from the kitchen at Shadowbox Live! Use the code “getnerdy” to lower the $8 suggested donation to $4.
