Did you know that by age 60, everyone’s bone marrow contains genetically altered cells? This universal aging process, called clonal hematopoiesis, is now recognized as a key factor in blood cancers and many other age-related diseases. Dr. Grieselhuber will explain this fascinating phenomenon that’s reshaping our understanding of aging, cancer development, and potential preventative strategies.
Dr. Nicole Grieselhuber is a physician scientist and faculty in the Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University. Her research and clinical focus centers on understanding how leukemia develops and creating strategies to prevent it. She’s part of OSU’s dedicated clinic at the James Cancer Hospital that sees patients with clinically significant clonal hematopoiesis, and her lab work (funded by the American Cancer Society and Pelotonia) explores potential preventative treatments.
