Alexis H. Villacis, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at The Ohio State University (OSU). Alexis is an applied microeconomist studying the social welfare implications of cacao and chocolate value chains. Before joining OSU, he worked for Arizona State University and has collaborated with the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, the Inter-American Development Bank, the government of Ecuador and the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) promoting policies and programs aimed at assisting smallholder producers in Latin America.
